Terry

Norah's Ark by Judy Baer

Rating: 5 Stars

A fun, light, fiction read. Baer sets up good characters and delightful story lines, yet deposits nuggets of Christian truths where least expected. Expect some laughs and some spiritual growth!

The Glory of Christ by John Owen

Rating: 5 Stars

This one is put out by Banner of Truth, and is made easy to read by R.J.K. Law. I still found that it needs a slow, careful reading, as the material is still deep. This book is theologically solid, as well as indispensable for Christian growth. Very highly recommended!

"No man shall ever behold the glory of Christ by sight hereafter, who doth not in some measure behold it by faith here in this world."
-- John Owen

Dorothy

Monique and the Mango Rains by Kris Holloway

Rating: 3 Stars

Written by a Peace Corp volunteer about her experiences in Mali, the author describes what it was like assisting a native midwife in remote villages. It made me very thankful to be living in Canada!!

Asha Smith

Sundays at Tiffany's by James Patterson

Rating: 5 Stars

Another great read by this author.

Asha Smith

Amazing Grace by Danielle Steele

Rating: 5 Stars

Faith, love, forgiveness and adventure all rolled into one. An excellent read.

LyndaRae

Dinner with a Perfect Stranger by David Gregory

Rating: 5 Stars

My book club read this recently and all agreed it was great. It was thought provoking and also a wonderful tool for evangelizing. Many of us gave copies to people who don't yet know Christ.

The Veil by Diane Noble

Rating: 5 Stars

Set in the West of the 1800s, this book brought history to life. It had love, tears, real historical fact and excitement within one story. I couldn't put it down.

Linda M

The Yada Yada Prayer Group Gets Decked Out by Neta Jackson

Rating: 5 Stars

I enjoyed reading this book. It's about a group of women in a church prayer group and the bonds they develop over time. Very touching story.

Steal Away: Devotions for Baseball Fans by Hugh Poland

Rating: 5 Stars

A wonderful Father's Day gift! This devotional is full of stories from the wonderful game of baseball and is sure to delight every fan.

Before the Thunder Rolls by Dale Beaver

Rating: 5 Stars

If the dad in your life is a racing fan, you would do well to pick up a copy of this book by the former chaplain of the NASCAR series. It includes forewords by Jimmie Johnson (2007 Nextel Cup winner) and Ryan Newman (2008 Daytona 500 winner), and also features the eulogy that the author preached at the funeral of Dale Earnhardt St.

Sarah

Fancy Pants by Cathy Marie Hake

Rating: 3 Stars

I'd really enjoyed LETTER PERFECT and BITTERSWEET, so I had high hopes for this book. Truthfully, I was a little disappointed. I didn't think it was her best.

Barbara

My Heart Remembers by Kim Vogel Sawyer

Rating: 5 Stars

My Ladies book club at church read this for our May meetubf. What a story of determination and faith, never giving up!

Dearest Dorothy, Are We There Yet? by Charlene Ann Baumbich

Rating: 5 Stars

I just recently discovered the first two books in the Dearest Dorothy series in my church library. They are heartwarming and funny --- a total delight to read. The characters of Dorothy's town make me smile, even the nosy, gossipy ones and the cranky ones, because who doesn't know people exactly like that? Dorothy herself is an 87 year old full of spunk and a "real" faith in God that can refresh the way you think about prayer and relying on God in a daily, practical way.

Where are You Now? by Mary Higgins Clark

Rating: 5 Stars

Great character overlapping. It had me questioning all the way up to the last chapter!

JaneAnn Railey

THE YOU I NEVER KNEW and SUMMER BY THE SEA by Susan Wiggs

Rating: 5 Stars

5 stars, of course! What else would you expect from Susan Wiggs! I just finished these two and picked up Barbra Walters's memiors. I just started, so I will get back to you on it.

Judy

Light From Heaven by Jan Karon

Rating: 5 Stars

I absolutely love the Mitford series. I lose myself in these stories and find such a sense of peace. Father Tim and his wife have become my friends.

The Chase by Susan Wales and Robin Shope

Rating: 4 Stars

I found the first book in this series and have quickly read all 3: THE CHASE, THE REPLACEMENT and THE CANDIDATE. I can't wait for the next one. These books were put together well --- they are a mix of many genres.

A Time To Mend by Sally John and Gary Smalley

Rating: 2 Stars

I loved her In a Heartbeat and The Beach House series. I was so excited to see a new book by Sally, but this was a huge
huge disappointment.

Jenn S.

Deeper by Debbie Alsdorf

Rating: 4 Stars

If you've ever had difficulty in moving from "head knowledge" about God's love for you to a true "heart transformation", you would truly benefit from reading this wonderful book by Debbie Alsdorf. I am finding myself nodding my head in agreement with so much that she's written. This is truly one of the best Christian Living titles I've picked up in a long time! Highly recommended.

Sherrie Gil

War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy

Rating: 4 Stars

Great classical read!

Sherrie Gils

Trespass by Sue Grafton

Rating: 5 Stars

Great mystery!

Betty

Comes a Horseman by Robert Liparulo

Rating: 4 Stars

A real thriller! It's written well and has a good storyline, but I don't really think it needed to be quite as gory as it was.

Kathy Hawkes

Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult

Rating: 5 Stars

Though not a Christian writer, I just love this author! My absolute favorite from her was MY SISTER'S KEEPER...one of my all-time favorites.

Christy Janes

Let Them Eat Cake! by Sandra Byrd

Rating: 5 Stars

I thoroughly enjoyed this book! I loved the main character, as well as all the French language scattered throughout the text. I had no trouble relating with the main character whatsoever, and I really hope that there will be a sequel to this book...it was that good!

Sherrie Gil

Honor Thyself by Danielle Steel

Rating: 3 Stars

Her books are great.
