High Noon by Nora Roberts |

Rating: 3 Stars |
I found this to be too repetitive. It was good and I enjoyed it, but it was slow. It was not up to par with the usual Nora Roberts novels.

Moon Over Tokyo by Siri L. Mitchell |
|
Rating: 5 Stars |
I am a big fan of Siri L. Mitchell because she has the ability to make readers feel like they are really in the book's setting. In this case, it is Tokyo, in the story of a young woman who thinks she is living life on the edge as a reporter for "Stars and Stripes" while living on a military base in Japan. Allie prays for a new friend who lives close to her, and quickly runs into an old high school nemesis, who now lives in her neighborhood, at church one Sunday. But Eric is not the friend she prayed for! Allie learns in the novel that people are not always who she thinks they are, including herself.

The Road to Home by Vanessa del Fabbro |

Rating: 5 Stars |
South African journalist Monica Brunetti is living in South Africa during the transition from Nelson Mandela's term to a new government. After becoming a victim of a carjacking and being taken to a black hospital, she learns about an African experience from which she has been sheltered and develops a friendship that will test her commitment and strengthen her faith. This is one of the best books I've read recently.

A Woman's Place by Lynn Austin |
|
Rating: 5 Stars |
World War II changes the lives of four women (a timid housewife, a single school teacher, a young wife with a husband in the marines, and an aspiring college student). They test their strength and resilience by working in a shipyard and struggling with faith, family, and even racial issues while the war rages overseas. I loved this book because it is relevant today as women try to find their identity and keep the faith in a changing world.

Summer Breeze by Catherine Palmer and Gary Chapman |
|
Rating: 4 Stars |
SUMMER BREEZE is the second book in this series. It's about a down-to-earth marriage relationships. Each book focuses on a different couple in a small-town setting. Though there are many humorous parts, each situation is very typical of married life. These books teach a lot about relationships and how to work problems out. Definetly a must read!

Forever by Karen Kingsbury |
|
Rating: 3 Stars |
FOREVER is the last book in the Firstborn series about the Baxter family. It was an okay read, but it repeats a lot of content from her previous books in the series. I' was a little irritated that everything was wrapped quickly and neatly as usual. I recommend getting the book from the library.

The Candidate by Susan Wales and Robin Shope |
|
Rating: 5 Stars |
If you like good, fast-paced mysteries and romance novels, I suggest you read THE CANDIDATE. I had read the other two novels by these authors and could not wait to read this book. It was worth the wait. I enjoyed the way it was written and was very surprised by the ending. I also loved the hometown feel the book gave me. If you want an enjoyable book, sit back and read this one. You will not be disappointed.

Psalms For Today by Wilson Crawford |
|
Rating: 5 Stars |
This is a small collection of "Psalms" that are the author's own meditations, thoughts and prayers written in today's language about today's problems. A friend recommended it to me and I have found it very inspirational and helpful, first during a difficult time, then just day to day. The author makes it clear these are not to replace the Psalms of the Bible, which is God's holy word.
