Winter Birds by Jamie Langston Turner

Rating: 5 Stars

Jamie Langston Turner is one of my favorite authors, and her latest book does not disappoint. Her characters are fascinating, realistic, and delightfully flawed! I wish everybody would read her work.

God is Closer Than You Think by John Ortberg

Rating: 4 Stars

A lot of great content about theological truths, but illustrated in very readable and understandable ways. It is easy to draw applications for everyday living.

Becky

Same Kind of Different as Me by Ron Hall and Denver Moore

Rating: 5 Stars

A wonderfully inspiring true story written by two men from very different worlds who are brought together by one extraordinary woman. Warning: you WILL cry and you will want to share it with others, so buy extra copies to give away!!

Sandra Lester

Song of Redemption by Lynn Austin

Rating: 5 Stars

The sequel to GODS AND KINGS picks up exactly where the first book left off. However, it could stand on its own. Our book club read GODS AND KINGS, unanimously voted to read the sequel, and were NOT disappointed!!! It was so riveting that most members read the book in one sitting.

Sandra Lester

Gods and Kings by Lynne Austin

Rating: 5 Stars

This book brought me clarity on the people of the Old Testament. Through the author's imagination, the Old Testament came to life, and gave me a renewed sense of understanding of the books.

Holly

Just Walk Across the Room by Bill Hybels

Rating: 5 Stars

This book has a subtitle of "Simple Steps Pointing People to Faith." It is the most usable book on evangelism I have ever seen. It takes away the stress we might feel about sharing our faith with others, and gives many real-life simple steps to making evangelism a way of life. Pick it up! It will change your life!

Judy

Three Can Keep a Secret by Judy Clemens

Rating: 4 Stars

This is Clemens's third book about a single woman farmer in PA. They are nice mysteries, quick reads, and interesting farming stories. I grew up on a farm, so it brings back memories.

Violet Dawn by Brandilyn Collins

Rating: 4 Stars

I don't always like romance novels of any kind. However, while browsing my public library, I spotted Brandilyn Collins's book, VIOLET DAWN. I have been very happy to find my self engrossed in the story of heartache and redemption. I especially enjoy the way she moves from character to character by devoting entire chapters to each important person. I heartily recommend VIOLET DAWN as a suspenseful and hopeful book. It's also worth reading for the sheer enjoyment of a good story.

JaneAnn Railey

The Man For Her by Alice Valdal

Rating: 4 Stars

I gave this four stars, only because I was able to put it down to go to bed. It's a story set during the Gold Rush, centered around a woman whose lover left her with child to go to find his fortune. It opens ten years later, and she is still waiting for him to return. She bumps into a man at the merchantile and thinks it is him
