As most of ya'll know, recommending one book is like Sophie's Choice, so in the interest of brevity I would recommend Crossfire and its sequel Firestorm by Jeanette Windle. In the first book, Sara Conner is swept off her feet by the chivalrous Nicolas Cortez and into perilous Bolivian drug culture while the latter has Sara dealing with rebuilding her life and the threat of global terrorism. Both international thrillers are expertly written by Ms. Windle and will keep the reader on the edge of their seat from start to finish.

The Rising by Jerry B. Jenkins and Tim LaHaye
This book is great! If you loved the Left Behind series, you'll really enjoy this book. This is the first book in the series, which takes place before the rapture of Christians around the world. This book talks about how the Antichrist came into the world. It also focuses on Rayford Steele, from a little boy through college, and how Rayford meets Irene and what their relationship was like before the rapture. Good book! I couldn't put it down!
