The Mark of the Lion series. I bought it as a packaged set, but there are three books: A Voice in the Wind, An Echo in the Darkness, and As Sure as the Dawn.

All three were wonderful! In fact, as soon as I got up every morning I just wanted to read more. I didn't want the books to end...and I've felt that way about every one of her books. The only two I haven't read yet are The Shoebox and The Sin Eater. I still have a few weeks of summer vacation left…

I also enjoyed Heaven's Wager and Blink by Ted Dekker. Both were 5 stars!

mlapp@aracnet.com
Dakota by Lauraine Snelling.
It is a book of four historical romance stories about North Dakota in 1910. I would rate this book 4 stars because there are a few obvious errors and inconsistencies, but the book is a good read. I'm really enjoying it and have a hard time putting it down.

nnjmom@yahoo.com
A Table in the Presence by Lt. Carey H. Cash. 5 stars.
Definitely a must-read. Written by a navy chaplain who accompanied the "fighting 5th" Marines into Baghdad in the early days of the war. Stories of God's miraculous presence and intervention and revival among the troops.

True Courage by Dee Henderson. 4 stars.
Her books are always page-turners. Not as good as some of the others in the series, but still very much worth reading.

Red by Ted Dekker. 5 stars.
Original, unique, unusual --- I can't say enough about this one. Definitely read Black first so you understand what's going on. It was excellent also, and Red is even better and harder to put down!

tfranzen2124@comcast.net
Blue Like Jazz by Donald Miller. 5 stars.
A wonderfully human and frank collection of essays on finding the path in Christianity. A must-read for any male, especially the post modern set.

dorsetville@snet.net
Katherine Valentine's series: Grace Will Lead Me Home, A Gathering of Angels and A Miracle for St. Cecilia's. All are 5 stars. They're funny, uplifting, tackle real problems that Christians face and how God's grace gets us through.

jannstan@positech.net
Could I Have This Dance? by Harry Kraus MD. 5 stars.
If you like medical suspense, this is the book for you.

For the Rest of My Life by Harry Kraus MD. 5 stars.
Sequel to Could I Have This Dance?

Hideway by Hannah Alexander. 5 stars.
I love stories that take place in my home state of MO.

Safe Haven by Hannah Alexander. 5 stars.
This one has a little of everything that I like in a book: suspense, humor, and romance.

tfranzen2124@comcast.net
Jim the Boy by Tony Earley is a wonderful fictional story of a boy growing up without a dad. Moving, gentle and redemptive. 5 stars.

All Over But the Shoutin' by Rick Bragg is a stirring memoir of how one moves from absolute poverty to journalistic success. 4 stars.

CLeaf77@aol.com
Halos by Kristen Heitzmann is a wonderful book and a quick read --- if you need a weekend pick me up, read this one. 4 1/2 stars. I would give it 5 stars but one really has to knock my socks off for a 5.

Ted Dekker is fantastic. Thr3e (5 stars) and Blink (5 stars) were both unbelievable. I've never been left guessing as much or surprised by the ending of a book as when I read Thr3e.

King's Ransom by Jan Beazely & Thom Lemmons was a great historical read. I didn't think it would pull me in, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. 3 1/2 stars.

Hell? Yes! by Robert Jeffress is engaging, topical and timely. 3 stars.

The Externally Focused Church by Rick Rusaw is a solid read for anyone interested in church issues and going beyond the norm. 3 1/2 stars.

Awakening by Angela Hunt is a good book. Powerful story behind the story as characters learn more about God! 4 stars.

donna@montrosebible.org
I have just read a trilogy of books by Eva Marie Everson: Shadow of Dreams, Summon the Shadows, and Shadows of Light.

I give these 5 stars! They are suspense stories with the first one using a prodigal son theme --- the ending of each of the first 2 books makes it very tantalizing to go on to the next one. However, if one book is missed, there is enough "background" in the others so the overall story line is easy to follow.

The author was one of the faculty members at our Christian Writers Conference in July and she was a delight to meet!

Lately I've been reading the Love Inspired books that are put out by Steeple Hill publishers. These are short (252 pages) inspirational romances. Some mix suspense in, too, and I love that, as that is my favorite genre. :)

Recent titles I have enjoyed:
Love is Patient by Carolyne Aarsen. 5 stars.
Blessings by Lois Richer. 4 stars.
Hero in Her Heart by Marta Perry. 4 stars.
The Courage to Dream by Margaret Daley. 3 1/2 stars.

dmcowling@shaw.ca
Invisible by Lorena McCourtney. 4 stars.
The Awakening by Angela Hunt. 4 stars.
Breach of Promise by James Scott Bell. 4 stars.
What the Land Already Knows by Phyllis Tickle. 4 stars.
Wisdom in the Waiting by Phyllis Tickle. 4 stars.
The Mending String by Cliff Coon. 4 stars.

bevae1@msn.com
What a Girl Wants by Kristin Billerbeck. 5 stars.
Occupied Voices by Wendy Pearlman. 5 stars.

mcphifer@earthlink.net
The Yada Yada Prayer Group Gets Down by Neta Jackson. 5 stars.
Precious Things by Andrea Boeshaar. 4 1/2 stars.
Beyond the Shadows by Robin Lee Hatcher. 5 stars.

timzladee@carolina.rr.com
Joseph by Chuck Swindoll. 5 stars.
Job by Chuck Swindoll. 5 stars.
Elijah by Chuck Swindoll. 5 stars.
Paul by Chuck Swindoll. 5 stars.

These are excellent Bible study books that make the characters come alive and give great practical application to our daily lives.

I'm a book reviewer, so here's my opinion on books old, new, and unreleased:

Secrets by Kristen Heitzmann. 4 stars.
The slow beginning and predictable ending were the only things that prevented this from being 5 stars. The characters were great, and I loved the distant connection with Heitzmann's earlier series (Diamond of the Rockies).

Tiger Lillie by Lisa Samson. 5 stars.
Literary chick lit: the girl gets a cool guy, but also deals with deep issues. A bit unconventional, fun and thought-provoking.

Black, Red, and White by Ted Dekker. 5 stars.
Pulls together all of Dekker's previous books in a brilliant fantasy epic.

The Paradise War by Stephen Lawhead. 3 stars.
Fantasy in the tradition of Tolkien and Lewis, but with a slow start and gradual telling. Aimed a bit more for guys.

Bekind2@aol.com
Land of My Heart by Tracie Peterson was great. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in this series. I give it 5 stars.
